In 1997 George Lucas revisited his original Star Wars films altering special effects and adding new scenes.  The original films were permanently pulled from distribution and Lucas continued to make additional adjustments until 2012.  Now owned by Disney, Star Wars (1977), The Empire Strikes Back (1980), and Return of the Jedi (1983) are strikingly different from their original versions.

Team Negative 1 (TN1) is a group of Star Wars fans who for 15 years have been preserving, digitizing, and restoring theatrical release prints of the original Star Wars trilogy, in addition to trailers, bootleg versions on film and tape, and other Star Wars-related media.  The goal is to preserve the original film versions that inspired a generation of filmmakers and brought joy to so many people, and to ensure these versions survive long into the future.

Members of TN1 will give a presentation on their efforts and bring a range of materials—including original 35mm theatrical film reels, 16mm and VHS bootleg versions, and Super-8 home movie editions—to demonstrate the wide range of Star Wars media available in the 1970s and 80s and how vastly they differ in look and content from the versions currently in circulation.
